As a leader in the industry, we’re expanding rapidly, and we’re looking for a dynamic Senior Vice President, Legal to join our team and help shape our legal strategies, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and protecting the interests of our business.Position Summary : The Senior Vice President (SVP), Legal is a strategic leadership position reporting to the CEO and is responsible for overseeing and managing all legal aspects of The Joint Chiropractic’s operations. This role involves providing expert legal counsel on franchising, corporate governance, contracts, compliance, litigation, and regulatory matters. You will also manage outside counsel to ensure full SEC compliance and compliance with regulatory matters. You will partner with senior leadership to drive business growth while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.Key Responsibilities : Strategic Legal Counsel You’ll provide proactive legal guidance to the executive team on business strategy, risk mitigation, and key decisions, including franchising, intellectual property, labor, and corporate governance.Franchise System Support Oversee all aspects of franchise law compliance, including the oversight, drafting and management of Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) and franchise agreements, while ensuring adherence to federal and state franchise regulations.Act as the primary legal advisor on day-to-day franchise matters, partnering with operations and franchise development teams to address legal questions and resolve compliance issues.Contract Negotiation & Management You’ll lead the negotiation and drafting of a variety of complex legal agreements including franchise agreements, supplier contracts, licensing deals, and more.Litigation Management Oversee any litigation or disputes, working with external counsel when necessary, to resolve issues efficiently while minimizing the company’s risk exposure.Compliance Leadership Ensure that the company is in full compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including healthcare regulations, franchise law, employment law, and data privacy laws.Corporate Governance Advise the board of directors and senior leadership on best practices for corporate governance and ensure compliance with regulations governing corporate structure and shareholder agreements.Healthcare Legal Risk Management Ensure the company adheres to healthcare-specific regulations, including HIPAA and patient privacy laws.Qualifications : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the relevant bar association.7-12 years of legal experience in franchising required, publicly listed and / or healthcare compliance experience strongly preferred.Proven ability to handle complex legal matters and provide strategic advice to senior leadership.Expertise in managing contracts, litigation, and compliance programs, ideally in a fast-paced, regulated environment.Compensation : Salary : $225 - 275k DOEMedical, Dental, Vision401k w / company matchPTO AccrualWhy Join Us?At The Joint Chiropractic, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a growing organization that values health, wellness, and innovation.
