Job Summary
The Commercial Lines Account Representative (CSR) is responsible for providing customer service and support to business clients in the management of their commercial insurance policies. This includes assisting with policy changes, renewals, claims, and addressing client inquiries. The CSR will work closely with insurance brokers, underwriters, and other internal teams to ensure the timely and accurate handling of client accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their commercial insurance policies.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster retention and satisfaction.
- Policy Management:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of new business applications, renewals, and policy endorsements.
- Review policy terms, coverage limits, and exclusions to ensure accuracy and client understanding.
- Work with underwriters to obtain quotes and adjust coverage as needed to fit clients' needs.
- Claims Support:
- Assist clients in the claims process by providing necessary documentation, following up on claims status, and ensuring a smooth resolution.
- Communicate with insurance companies, adjusters, and clients to facilitate claims settlements.
- Sales and Account Retention:
- Collaborate with sales teams and account managers to cross-sell additional coverage or services to existing clients.
- Identify opportunities to improve coverage and provide clients with cost-effective insurance solutions.
- Track renewals and proactively follow up with clients to ensure policy retention.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and policy records.
- Prepare certificates of insurance and other required documents.
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of daily tasks, ensuring timely completion.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in commercial lines insurance or related fields.
- Licensing: State-specific property and casualty insurance license required (or willingness to obtain within a specified period).
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of commercial lines insurance products, including general liability, property, workers' compensation, and auto insurance.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
