- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal commercial insurance applications within the designated authority levels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers to drive profitable growth
- Analyze risk factors and determine the appropriate premium for individual accounts
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategies to increase production and profitability
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to brokers and policyholders
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience as a commercial lines underwriter or relevant position
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and underwriting principles
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with brokers and internal stakeholders
- Proficient in using underwriting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Industry certifications such as CPCU, AU, or ARM are a plus
- Review and analyze commercial insurance applications to determine risk and pricing
- Communicate with brokers to gather additional information and negotiate terms
- Document underwriting decisions and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to identify new business opportunities
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge
