Employee Benefits Account Manager

Job Summary

An established agency is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Employee Benefits Account Manager to join their growing team. You will play a pivotal role in managing client accounts, ensuring seamless support, and fostering strong relationships. This opportunity requires expertise in navigating insurance policies and delivering exceptional service in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide timely support for assigned accounts, managing policy documents and addressing client inquiries promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with carriers and customers, collaborating with account representatives to enhance client servicing.
  • Resolve issues related to policy coverage, billing, membership, and claims efficiently.
  • Utilize Employee Navigator to build groups and plans.
  • Manage enrollments and terminations.
  • Implement and update the COBRA Administrator as required.
  • Market renewal options with carriers to secure competitive rates and terms for clients.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive benefit proposals to clients, highlighting value and customization options tailored to their needs.
  • Adhere to agency workflows and standards to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of insurance industry changes to continuously expand knowledge.
  • Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work with clients at a strategic level.
  • Holds an active Life and Health (L&H) Insurance License.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Previous experience with Employee Navigator (required) and Applied EPIC (preferred).
  • Previous level-funded and fully-funded experience is required.
  • Previous self-funded experience is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience as an Employee Benefits Account Manager within an Insurance Brokerage Firm.
  • A proven track record of consistent job tenure in previous roles is required.
  • Holds at least one professional designation or has comparable job experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and uphold company policies with confidentiality.
  • Above average computer skills with the capacity to master essential software programs.
