We are seeking a Property Claims Manager . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 6 plus a supervisor, handling property claims, and developing departmental strategies.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of 6 plus a supervisor with 3 direct reports
- Manage all property claims and departmental strategy
- Handle claims in compliance with company guidelines and regulations
- Verify policy coverage on assigned claims
- Investigate and evaluate claims, and negotiate for proper settlement
- Assign independent adjusters, appraisers, and staff Field Claims Representative when necessary
- Pursue subrogation, salvage, and third-party liability contribution
- Establish proper reserves on assigned claims
- Attend claim seminars and participate in claim associations
- Perform other duties as assigned by Casualty Claims and SIU Supervisor and Supervisor
- Bachelor's degree required -7 years of Property and Casualty claims experience
- 2 years of management experience
- Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance coverages and terms preferred
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively with company computer systems
- Willingness to participate in insurance-related study courses
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to various locations
- Ability to work in an office environment and perform essential job functions
