Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site property risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend risk improvement solutions.
- Develop detailed risk engineering reports for underwriters and clients, including hazard analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with underwriters to evaluate risk quality and provide recommendations for risk selection and pricing.
- Provide guidance and training to clients on fire protection, natural hazards, and loss prevention best practices.
- Stay current on industry trends, building codes, and fire safety regulations.
- Lead risk assessment projects for high-value or complex accounts.
- Participate in client presentations, supporting the marketing of risk engineering services.
- Assist in the development of risk improvement plans and follow up on the implementation of recommendations.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in property risk engineering or a related role within the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, building codes, and risk mitigation practices.
- Experience with high-value or complex commercial property accounts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for on-site assessments.
- Professional designations such as CFPS, CSP, or ARM.
- Experience working with large-scale commercial or industrial clients.
- Familiarity with building construction, fire protection, and business interruption exposures.
