The Assistant Project Manager's primary responsibility is to support the project managers, general and field superintendents in efficient completion of all projects. The position will primarily be located at the main office, occasional travel to and from construction sites, permitting offices, and pre-bid meetings may be required. The ideal candidate will possess punctuality, a strong work I think, be able to adapt to rapid changes and have a team centered attitude.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist project manager in quantity takeoffs, estimating, planning and scheduling projects.
- Collaborate with all management and field personnel as needed to complete quality projects on time.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and scope of work to fully understand project requirements.
- Calculate precise quantities of materials needed for the project using estimating software.
- Contact and maintain relationships with material suppliers for consistent and up-to-date pricing.
- Participate in developing and maintaining company scope reviews and project schedules.
- Assist in managing project files and flow of information for all projects.
- Update and distribution of contract documents including plans, specifications shop drawings, photo documentation and submittals through PM software and hardcopies.
- Use project management software consistently and accurately.
- Be willing to learn to estimate cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors based on the market and suppliers quotes.
Required skills and abilities for this position
- Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, and the community.
- Have advanced typing skills.
- Be proficient in basic computer programs, Word and Excel.
- Use written communication in a professional, clear concise thorough emails, letters, meetings, minutes etc.
- Be able to learn quantity takeoff programs
- Provide an understanding of civil and building construction practices and company procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
