Part Time Sports Reporter
We are seeking an experienced reporter to cover area sports stories for The Journal, serving Cortez and Montezuma County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cover local sports events, including games, tournaments, and championships
- Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and other sports professionals
- Write engaging articles and reports for publication in The Journal
- Meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure
- Collaborate with other reporters and editors to ensure accuracy and consistency
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (preferred)
- At least 2 years of reporting experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of sports journalism principles and practices
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
