What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Guitar/Music Instructor position at The Joy of Music?
Overview
We're looking for a private guitar instructor with previous teaching experience who enjoys engaging with students and actively adapting lessons to a student's needs. Some knowledge of other musical instruments and an ability to teach group classes with multiple instruments is preferred. We are open to training motivated candidates in this area.
Duties
- Comfortable teaching most ages.
- Prepare curriculum for individual or group lessons.
- Gamifying music theory and technique.
- Preparing clear practice objectives including assignments and practice sheets.
Skills
- Previous experience teaching music to a variety of ages.
- Background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and educational methodologies.
- Ability to educate effectively while considering childhood development principles.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Knowledge of various music genres, including but not limited to classical, rock, and folk.
- Patience, creativity, and excellent communication skills are essential for engaging students effectively.
- Knowledge of how to effectively communicate with parents and guardians about students' progress in lessons.
