Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift at our Alexandria, KY location. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), read blueprints, ladder logic, electrical, and hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot and improve systems and processes.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including scales, dumpers, mixers, cookers, chillers, slicers, packaging machines, conveyors, palletizers, and pallet wrappers.
- Repair, modify, and improve facility and production equipment using precision techniques.
- Troubleshoot computer/PLC controlled equipment, motor control systems, servo motors, pumping systems, 3-phase industrial electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
- Complete mathematical calculations as needed.
- Provide corrective actions for equipment/system failures using root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
- Fabricate and weld various types of metals (a plus).
- Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety policies such as lock-out tag-out (LOTO), Arc-Flash, hot work permit, and confined space entry.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisors and Planners for continuous improvement.
- Work in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
- Work off shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Understand OSHA regulations.
- Lift and move up to 40 lbs.
- Work in wet, humid, cold, and hot environments, including refrigerated areas with ambient temperatures of 40 degrees.
- Stand or walk on hard floors for 8-12 hour days.
- 2 years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on electrical/motors.
- Troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to understand technical and training manuals.
- Handle and distribute cleaning chemicals and record data.
