Job Title: Counselor (Associate or Licensed)
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Job Overview:
Our client is seeking passionate Counselors (Associate or Licensed) to join theirteam. This role is crucial in overseeing patient treatment, ensuring comprehensive care from admission to discharge, and promoting performance improvement. You'll provide psychological therapy and substance abuse counseling, including family and group therapy, working closely with our clinical team to address the causes and effects of addiction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Coordination: Attend clinical meetings and contribute to patient care decisions.
- Assessment & Diagnosis: Evaluate patients for substance abuse and determine appropriate care levels using DSM criteria and ASAM guidelines.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and revise treatment plans to reflect patient progress or changes.
- Substance Abuse Counseling: Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Discharge Planning: Create discharge and continuum of care plans for smooth transitions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate clinical records and document all services.
- Support Services Coordination: Assist patients and families in accessing support services and coordinate with external referral sources.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention using a multidisciplinary team approach.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and patient care planning.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines, ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
- Additional Duties: Perform administrative and clinical tasks as needed.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Saturday rotation: A few Saturdays per month (with flexible scheduling).
Salary:
- Associate Counselors: Up to $68,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Licensed Counselors: Up to $78,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Note: These figures represent the maximum salary offered.
Qualifications:
For Associate Counselors:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Pursuit or completion of relevant state licensure (e.g., CSAC, CSAC-A, or CSAC-Supervisee).
- Experience in addiction counseling or mental health is a plus.
For Licensed Counselors:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Active state licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
- Experience in addiction counseling or mental health preferred.
Competencies:
- Adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality standards.
- Strong understanding of healthcare legal policies and regulations.
- Sound judgment in crisis situations.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
