Responsibilities
- Amazon QuickSight Development:
- Create, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in QuickSight.
- Implement advanced analytics capabilities, including calculated fields, parameters, and forecasting.
- Optimize QuickSight performance by managing SPICE datasets and applying best practices.
- Manage, maintain, and monitor user access and data source connectivity in QuickSight.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with Business Unit Reporting teams and Technology Product teams to gather and understand data visualization requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on leveraging Amazon QuickSight and advanced SQL querying techniques to prepare and optimize data for impactful visualizations.
- Data Engineering and Management:
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL pipelines for data integration and transformation.
- Work with Star Schema Data Warehouses and Databases to support analytical needs by identifying meaningful patterns, trends, and relationships, to deliver actionable business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and availability is maintained across the Enterprise Analytics Data platform.
- Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor and fine-tune SQL queries and reporting tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data visualization, connectivity, or data integrity.
- Stay updated on AWS and data engineering trends to recommend improvements.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for data models and dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in creating and maintaining Dashboards using Amazon QuickSight (preferred) or other reporting tools such as Tableau.
- 3 years of experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for AWS RedShift and other databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) to perform effective querying of multiple tables and subqueries.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing concepts, data pipeline frameworks (e.g., AWS Glue), and best practices.
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, and Storage Gateway.
- Knowledge and experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies is a plus.
- Strong proactive mindset with the ability to mentor and guide others.
- Hospitality Industry and AWS experience is a plus.
