Mechanical Engineer - Ship Integration (1080582)

Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $50.00 USD Hourly

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Ship Integration for a contract-to-hire position.

Looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Lakehurst team to design, develop, test, manufacture, field and sustain mission ready naval Aviation Support Equipment and Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment that can be safely, effectively and efficiently operated and maintained by Sailors and Marines. This position provides systems engineering, ship integration engineering, performance engineering and logistics expertise for the design, development, fielding, and in-service support of EMALS and AAG System Products.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical liaison for all matters related to engineering concerning the design, development and analysis of aircraft equipment and components of the Naval Air Warfare Center.
• Perform in a technical engineering advisory and assistance capacity as a technical expert.
• Provide engineering liaison between NAVAIR, NAVSEA to resolve problems concerning the installation of ALRE leading to efficient and effective certifications of ALRE.
• Review ALRE installation, test and evaluation, and certification procedures as part of the ongoing trend analysis leading to continuous improvement.
• Act as a consultant on research and technology trends in related scientific and engineering areas concerning ALRE shipboard integration, installation, and certification.
• Make critical decisions of an engineering nature and meets regularly with representatives from other NAVAIR and Fleet Readiness Center activities, and commercial contractors to ensure proper application of engineering principles and practices on tactical Navy programs.
  
  

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Must obtain and maintain OSHA 10 hour Maritime Shipyard Employment safety training certification.
