Job Type: Ongoing Contract (W2, Weekly Pay, Benefits/401K Available)
Location: Richland, WA
Hours: (4x10's - Saturday/Sunday/Monday/Tuesday)
Experience: 5 years and an active WA state RN license
Description: We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Specialist responsible for the efficient and professional administration of our occupational health services. This role involves overseeing health services, staffing, competency, processes, customer service, and quality improvement, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage occupational health services in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Administer the medical examination program for employees, including new hires and periodic exams as mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and state regulations.
- Ensure compliance with clinical operation regulations and maintain occupational health records and equipment.
- Collaborate with external healthcare providers, third-party administrators, legal advisors, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide or manage required physical evaluations and services to meet regulatory requirements (NRC, OSHA, NIOSH, etc.).
- Evaluate and treat workplace injuries and illnesses efficiently and professionally.
- Supervise contract, temporary, and project health services staff.
- Contribute to injury prevention and health surveillance programs.
- Assist with accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Develop health promotion strategies and ergonomic assessments.
- Manage worker's compensation and disability cases to ensure appropriate care and return to work.
- Maintain records, reports, and employee medical files.
- Assist Human Resources with accommodations and return-to-work options for employees with restricted duties.
Required Education and Experience:
- Five years of nursing experience and an active registered nurse license in Washington State.
- Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training, Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) certification, and NIOSH Approved Spirometry & Respiratory training within one year.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred, with certification in occupational health nursing, health & safety, or case management.
Required Skills and Abilities:

- Familiarity with state and federal occupational safety and health regulations.
- Experience in workers' compensation management.
- Strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills for occupational health documentation.
- Basic mathematical skills for routine calculations.
- Problem-solving skills for varied situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate computer skills, including electronic medical records.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to other company locations as required.
