Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and consultation for new implementations of our Regional MES.
- Organize, schedule, and plan all phases of the machine-building process.
- Assemble all related equipment as per specified drawings, CAD, or verbal instructions.
- Validate assembled equipment through internal run-offs and plant sign-offs.
- Support internal changes or modifications to existing equipment.
- Provide training to plant personnel after machine installation.
- Assist with repair issues as required.
- Supply Machine Bill of Material (BOM), spare parts, and other documentation for service and repair.
- Develop custom extensions that interface with our MES and augment production processes, including PLCs, Kepware, and other PE standard systems.
- Provide front-line support for technical issues related to production engineering.
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and support groups.
- Identify improvement requests, gather requirements, and assist in prioritizing work with customers.
- Work with engineering, business, and IT teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Over six (6) years of relevant experience.
- Five (5) years of experience implementing and maintaining MES.
- 1-2 years of experience in the automotive industry and with UBE equipment preferred.
- Experience maintaining injection tooling and injection molding machines up to 2,000 tons.
- 1-2 years of software development experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of industrial technology.
- Thorough understanding of company products, trade terminology, maintenance and repair operations, manufacturing processes, and machine/equipment operations.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures for supervision, inventory controls, and purchased goods.
- Effective problem-solving and resolution skills.
- Ability to diagnose problems for root cause and implement effective countermeasures.
- Capability to work in a dynamic team and with demanding customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Flexibility to work fixed or rotating shifts, including daily or weekend overtime.
- Ability to adapt skills and equipment to respond to unforeseen demands and problems.
- Implement plans to control and maintain safety, quality, 5S, cost, and efficiency for assigned areas.
- Precision in the mechanical assembly of large, custom machine tools.
- Utilize the Toyota Production System and engineering skills for new equipment building.
- Interface with electrical personnel regarding electrical and programming issues.
- Familiar with sequence of operations, new processes, and machine start-up instructions.
- Strong organization, time management, and planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Ability to read component, assembly, and equipment drawings and understand GD&T.
- Hands-on self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage complex, long-term projects.
- Perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Active listener with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to function independently and with good judgment in a team environment.
- Interact with and work well with individuals from multiple departments and locations.

- Experience in PLC Programming (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, and other controllers).

- Knowledge of Japanese, Spanish, or Portuguese is helpful but not required.
- Solid understanding of information systems and their effects on processes and controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Internet, Oracle).
- Experience with PE-related PLC software.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; CATIA experience is preferred.
- Office: Open office environment with moderate noise level.
- Plant: Various manufacturing environments, standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc., may be required in designated areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
