Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Location: Los Angeles

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team in a dynamic dairy manufacturing environment. The QA Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and safety of our dairy products throughout the production process. This role requires strong leadership, a thorough understanding of food safety regulations, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.

Responsibilities

Quality System Oversight:

• Implement and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to quality control and assurance.
• Conduct internal audits to verify adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  
  

Production Quality Control

• Supervise and monitor quality control activities throughout the production process, from raw material intake to finished product packaging.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests of products and processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
• Team Leadership & Development:
• Supervise and train QA technicians and other quality control personnel.
• Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they understand and adhere to quality standards.
• Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team.
  
  

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all quality control activities.
• Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.
• Customer & Supplier Relations:
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality.
• Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials and packaging.
• Act as a point of contact for quality-related inquiries from customers and suppliers.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in quality assurance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment, preferably dairy.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMPs, and FSMA.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using quality control software and tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
• Certification in HACCP or other relevant food safety programs.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
