Position Overview: Austin Hospital seeks a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join its interdisciplinary care team. The role involves assessing, treating, and monitoring cardiopulmonary diseases while maintaining collaborative and patient-focused care practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and treatments of cardiopulmonary diseases across patient care settings.
• Communicate changes in patient conditions, diagnostic results, and responses to treatments to the care team.
• Monitor and minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatments and outcomes.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy (required).
• Certifications:
• National Board for Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification (required).
• Minnesota Respiratory Therapist (RT) license (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (preferred).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or healthcare-related field.
• Previous hospital experience.
• Additional NBRC specialty credentials.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
  

Additional Details

• All therapists must obtain the CRT certification before the first day of employment.
• Graduate therapists must have permission to practice with the licensing board in Minnesota prior to employment.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required within one year of hire.
