The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $68,640.00 to $91,000.00.

This position is exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position

  • Applicants must currently reside in Arizona or be willing to relocate to Arizona by the time of hire.

Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. This position may offer a hybrid (telework, remote) schedule, depending on the needs of the Judicial Branch.

The Judicial Branch is unable to provide visa sponsorship (i.e. H-1B visa etc.).

The Network Engineer is responsible for network administration services in the technical support, planning, forecasting, designing, project management, installation, monitoring and maintenance of the assigned network.

Position Qualifications

Education :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field
  • Experience :

  • 1) one years of experience in network administration, including network design, project deployment, and supporting relevant technologies such as Cisco and Palo Alto.
  • Combined education and experience qualifications :

  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis
  • Other Requirements :

  • Must be able to travel between multiple locations on a regular basis or only include driver's license if driving is required more than 3 times a week
  • Our Preferred Candidate has :

  • Proficiency in enterprise hardware, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.
  • Experience with SDWAN
  • Experience with Enterprise Network technologies
  • Experience with Enterprise Wi-Fi connectivity, authentication
  • Current CCNA or CCNP certification
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities :

    Knowledge of :

  • Full understanding of OSI, TCP / IP, to perform packet captures and data analysis
  • Project Management
  • VOIP and SIP solutions
  • Skill in :

  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Applying standard methodology, techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Strong teamwork abilities
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication
  • Understanding of network standards and network security
  • Strong technical expertise and attention to detail
  • Ability to :

  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex software application related problems
  • Ability to analyze raw results, determine / resolve bottlenecks, and create meaningful documentation of testing scenarios and results
  • Demonstrated ability with ServiceNow incident, change, problem, request, CMDB and knowledge management applications
  • Multitask using time management skills such as prioritizing / organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment while staying engaged and motivated and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Essential Job Tasks

  • Monitors and tunes the network for optimal performance including preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Plans, forecasts, designs, implements and manages the network including wide area and local area networks.
  • Provides input for network design, procurement of network equipment and supplies.
  • Performs software and hardware installation and equipment relocation as required to support the business needs.
  • Monitors the network for unauthorized activities and maintains network security.
  • Participates in the establishment of a growth plan for the network to ensure the best quality service in a state of-the-art environment.
  • Provides planning and technical support for installations.
  • Acts as the primary interface with equipment vendors for resolving problems.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation for emergency outages and shift rotation for scheduled maintenance.
  • Provides a secure architecture for both wired and wireless networks.
  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones require development, especially regarding future business expansion.
  • Executes data and network segmentation schema (as appropriate) to ensure proper compliance with operating governance direction.
  • Participates in strategic planning for future infrastructure changes consistent with a platform-based networking and service delivery model.
  • Participates with vendors in the assessment of advanced retail transaction processing and database productions including beta and field test participation.
  • Participates in the establishment of an operation plan for the network to ensure optimum reliability.
  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require modification.
  • Assists in development of new policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation as required
  • Working conditions :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects that are close by, and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, such as sitting, standing, or walking. The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms.     Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

    The Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County participates in the State Retirement systems ASRS or PSPRS. As such, mandatory membership for all full-time employees includes payroll deducted contributions consistent with each retirement system's requirements. The current contribution rate for ASRS is 12.27% and the current contribution rate for PSPRS is 5.84% and up for the defined contribution plan and 8.82% for the defined benefit plan.
