Community Home Lending Officer - NORTHWEST INDIANA
We are seeking a PASSIONATE LOAN OFFICER WITH PROVEN EXPERIENCE WORKING WITHIN THE LMI COMMUNITY. The ideal candidate will have a successful referral base derived from being a pillar and sphere of influence within the NW Indiana community.

Position Goals:
The successful employee will have the passion and commitment of making possible the homeownership dream. The drive to build long term relationships with internal and external customers, while expanding their customer base via center of influence referrals.
They will focus on strong and consistent production results by servicing and originating mortgage loans for individuals in low and moderate income and minority neighborhoods.
Their communication and interpersonal skills will be essential to assist in the discovery and financial education process of many of their customers and prospects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop new business by cultivating CRA/LMI prospects and referral contacts (realtors, builders, teammate referrals, community partners and personal contacts).
2. Advise prospects and customers concerning home loan products and process.
3. Interview and take loan applications including the analysis of financial data and delivery of loan packages.
4. Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing, underwriting and escalation of exception procedures.
5. Provide high level of customer service.
6. Conduct and coordinate homebuyer-training seminars for CRA potential applicants.
7. Participate in community affairs to increase visibility and enhance new business opportunities.
8. Maintain the public reputation of the corporation.
9. Be part of a high performing team by participating in meeting and team efforts.
Position Requirements:
Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience - Two (2) plus years in one of the following fields; mortgage lending, consumer lending, credit counseling or homeownership counseling.
Preferred Requirements:
Understanding of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
Understanding of residential first time home buyer processing, underwriting and closing process.
Experience presenting financial education workshops with a focus on low and moderate income and minority neighborhoods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
