About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior DB2 Engineer with a strong focus on SQL development in a DB2 environment on IBM iSeries. The ideal candidate will specialize in designing and optimizing SQL-based solutions and have a track record of creating robust database systems. Experience with modern programming languages like Python is a valuable bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects within a DB2 environment on IBM iSeries.
- Collaborate with teams to design database solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Perform data modeling, analysis, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient and reliable database operations.
- Conduct performance tuning to enhance query execution and system efficiency.
- Create and maintain documentation for database solutions, including design and processes.
- Provide guidance on SQL best practices and ensure compliance with database standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in SQL development for DB2 databases on IBM iSeries (AS/400).
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and optimizing complex SQL-based solutions.
- Familiarity with modern programming languages such as Python is highly desirable.
