The Justice Center is a 501c3 not for profit providing legal advice and representation in the greater Colorado Springs community. We work to increase and promote equal access to justice in the Pikes Peak region. In 2022, The Justice Center provided over $1 million in legal services to our community. The Executive Director is always seeking new talent to provide their knowledge and expertise to the following programs:
Find-a-Lawyer Program: provides legal representation to clients through two projects:
Pro Bono Publico: delivering this service for free to clients living in a household with an income that does not exceed 200% of the current Federal Poverty Line; and
Modest Means: providing this service for a reduced cost to clients living in a household with an income that is over twice but does not exceed 275% of the current Federal Poverty Line.
Ask-a-Lawyer Program: provides free anonymous one-time legal advice to clients through three projects:
Meet-a-Lawyer: in person clinics -three of which are permanent and open to the public- Family Law Day, Senior Law Day and Legal Resource Day;
Call-a-Lawyer: over the phone by calling (719) 473-6212 on Wednesday from 7-8:30pm; and
Email-a-Lawyer: over email 24/7/365 with a maximum 7 business day turnaround.
Learn-with-Lawyers Program: provides educational tools to the community through two projects:
Legal Community: offering Continued Legal Education Course (CLEs) for free to our volunteer attorneys and at a cost for all others
Pikes Peak Community: offering access to toolkits, forms, and YouTube videos developed by Colorado barred attorneys and other legal professionals to learn how to avoid legal mishaps when fighting for their rights.
Volunteer-for-Justice Program: open to undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate students in exchange for credits or a small stipend.
