Description
The Loader Operator is responsible for working with other members of the construction crew to successfully complete projects within specifications and in a quality manner to meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Operates front end loader
- Interacts with crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment to complete conformation of grade specifications for the construction project.
- Shape and finish shoulders and slopes.
- Backfilling excavations
- Breaking concrete and asphalt
- Move materials around construction site.
- Loading and unloading materials off trucks.
- Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications.
- Responsible for cleanliness and greasing of the machine.
- Inspects equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation and for maintenance needs.
- Lubricates, fuels, and maintains other fluids on machinery.
- Ability to understand the limitations of the machine.
- Working knowledge of operating a front-end loader on a pipe crew, dirt or road crew.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ of direct experience in operating loader.
- Must be able to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions.
- Must pass a drug test
- Must pass a field test
- Must have reliable transportation to get to different job sites.
- Knowledge of loader operation and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Expectations:
- Ability to lift 50 or more pounds and ability to lift, carry, bend, crawl, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and crouch and able to stand for long period of time
- Must be able to work outdoors and withstand different weather elements.
