What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator - Construction position at The Kearney Companies?
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimator to join our construction team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of preliminary and final civil construction plans in preparation for bid proposals
- Review appropriate municipal specifications
- Perform quantity takeoffs of earthwork, grading, paving, utilities, and site concrete for private and public sector projects
- Obtain and review vendor quotations
- Various office tasks related to construction estimating on an as needed basis\
Requirements
- A motivated self-starter who can take direction and work independently
- Able to read and interpret civil construction plans and documents
- Able to adhere to guidelines and complete project tasks in established time frames
- A detail-oriented team player with strong communications skills
- Familiar with MS Office, AGTEK, Bluebeam and AutoCAD
- Professional experience in earthwork, utilities and roadwork construction is required
- 5 years in Civil Construction estimating highly preferred
- Civil engineering or related construction degree a plus, but not required
Pay: The salary for this position will be commensurate according to experience.
