POSITION: Spa Front Desk Attendant
OVERVIEW:
The Kentucky Castle is truly a unique property that draws many to experience its architectural beauty, mystery and landscape. At The Kentucky Castle Spa, our purpose is to create a relaxing and rejuvenating environment and experience for all of our guests, and we are seeking a part-time Spa Coordinator to join our team.
Our Spa Coordinator is the first interaction our guests have with The Kentucky Castle Spa and therefore a very important position. This person in this role is responsible for welcoming, greeting and orienting guests to The Kentucky Castle Spa, managing the reception desk, assisting guests and service providers and performing various custodial tasks, all in a fast-paced environment. This position is also responsible for keeping the guest facing areas neat, clean and stocked with all amenities. The Spa Coordinator will also be responsible for selling products and other spa services as well as assisting Spa Management in the discipline of upholding and optimizing the spa schedule. To excel in this position, you must be self-motivated, customer service-oriented and a team player with high attention to detail.
KEY DUTIES:
- Arrive on time, ready and prepared for the day.
- Welcome all guests with a warm smile and friendly greeting and maintain a warm, kind demeanor at all times with guests, management and staff.
- Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
- Assist guests and ensure completion of scheduling, appropriate intake forms, assist with lockers/slippers/etc, offer beverages and alert service providers that guests have arrived.
- Review guest appointments/schedules for accuracy and work with Spa Management Service Providers effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized spa environment through consistent monitoring of the key guests areas.
- Manage the register processing for complete and accurate payments for services, retail and gift cards.
- Must perform daily housekeeping tasks including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, laundry, washing dishes, dusting, etc.
- Must be able to open and close the spa and follow all duties.
KEY REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, personal cleanliness, grooming and appearance which includes but is not limited to wearing the proper uniform, name tag and following company uniform and dress code.
- Outstanding people skills; approaching all guests' interactions in a warm, friendly service oriented-manner.
- Must be dedicated to ensuring all guests are treated with empathy, respect, and TKC hospitality and understand that creating special memories and experiences for every guest is a priority.
- Must maintain client confidentiality.
- Must be able to work in a calm and quiet spa environment while multi-tasking. Spa environment experience preferred.
- Able to introduce yourself, maintain eye contact and provide guests with a brief orientation to the property, tour of the spa and check guests in for their services.
- Must be able to hear and understand guest feedback as well as handle guest complaints, situations in a calm, professional manner.
- Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time.
- Answer guests' inquiries regarding restaurant services, farm and garden, tours, events, and hotel.
- Demonstrate a high attention to detail, initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to run a cash register, count change and calculate tips.
- Knowledge of computers including email, word and excel.
- Must assist in ensuring the spa is clean and neat at all times.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods and to lift 50 pounds.
- Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
- Communicate effectively and timely to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
- Must maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of things to do on the property.
- Be aware of all rates packages and special promotions. Be familiar with in house group bookings; closed out and restricted dates.
- Assist guests with operating infrared sauna.
- Maintain product knowledge to promote and sell spa services and retail products.
- Perform various administrative tasks such as filing, printing and data entry.
- Have knowledge of and assist in emergency situations as required.
- Stock locker room supplies and amenities and alert management on inventory/supply needs.
- Be able to actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
- Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
