What are the responsibilities and job description for the Offsite Programs Assistant position at The Kentucky Science Center Inc?
Kentucky Science Center is seeking a seasonal Offsite Program Assistant for our summer 2025 Offsite School’s Out Science Camp program. The Assistant will play a vital role in the day-to-day management and implementation of offsite programs. The Assistant will work closely with the Offsite Programs Coordinator and Manager of Offsite Programs to ensure the daily coordination of the Offsite Program. This will include traveling to Schools, attaining knowledge of the offsite policies and procedures, preparation for and facilitation of Offsite Programs.
Responsibilities
- With the oversight of the Offsite Program Team, they will lead the implementation of offsite programs including but not limited to afterschool programs, science expos, demonstrations, and outreaches:
- Walk-Up Activities/Expos: tabletop hands-on science activities presented in a short, 4-6-minute format to small groups of 10 or fewer participants.
- Enrichments & After School Programs: teaching an hour-long hands-on science class for up to 25 participants.
- Outreach & Community Engagement: representing Kentucky Science Center at libraries, festivals, and other community events, furthering our work of making science accessible to all.
- Travel to various schools/organizations and facilitate educational activities with participants of all ages
- Help maintain Program Supplies and supply records.
- Act as representative of KSC in offsite locations, consistently embodying and demonstrating KSC’s values and executing its mission.
- Engage with the public in a positive and friendly manner and communicate directly with program organizers, coordinators, and participants.
- Will be required to drive distances across the multi-state area and have a valid driver’s license.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of Offsite Programs.
