Job Description
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available/ stocked in your assigned room.
- Take and process dental x-rays ensuring patient safety and accurate diagnostic outcomes. A.L.A.R.P.
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist, including suctioning, instrument transfer, and patient positioning.
- Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as DENTRIX.
- Ensure a clean and organized treatment environment, stocking supplies and equipment as needed.
- Adhere with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain an aseptic environment in accordance with strong knowledge of infection control protocols.
- Assist in managing patient flow within the office to ensure efficient operations.
- Support the front office staff with scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries as needed.
- Ability to perform with 4 handed dentistry with the Dentist.
Experience
- Previous experience in pediatric dentistry or a dental assistant role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and various dental procedures included with Pediatric Dentistry.
- Proficient in using dental software systems such as DENTRIX is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly PROFESSIONAL demeanor when interacting with children and their families.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Leaving personal business at the door. We're human but at TKD our patients need he best from us every day.
- Ability to understand the intent behind corrective coaching.
