Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, kindhearted and dedicated Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, with expertise in four-handed dentistry and a thorough understanding of dental terminology. This role involves working closely with the dentist to provide high-quality patient care and assist in various dental procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective four-handed dentistry. All in a timely manor. Our treatments are 1 hour long.
- We have sedation days during the month, you will have the Dr as your assistant that day as well as supporting staff for the beginning of treatment.
- At our office we do not provide EFDA assistants, if we are able to spare someone to help we will. We use Zyris Isolite Systems.
- Prepare and maintain cleanliness of the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take dental X-rays as needed, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis.
- No Lab Requirements.
- Maintain accurate patient records in Dentrix.
- Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on post-operative care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or EFDA is required.
- Proficiency in medical coding and familiarity with dental terminology is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate patient records.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while providing exceptional patient care. We do not condone any type of insubordinate behavior , bullying, or behaviors like this. We care for our team as much as we do our patients.
