Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at The Kidz Club. As a Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for safely transporting children with complex medical needs to and from designated locations.
Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive training program within 30 days of employment, including hands-on training with an experienced driver and an online training course.
- Transport clients to and from contracted vendors and designated locations, following a pre-planned route and schedule, while communicating with parents and staff.
- Drive buses cautiously and in compliance with traffic regulations, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
- Assume responsibility for the safety of passengers during loading, unloading, and transportation, and be knowledgeable of Passenger Assistance guidelines and passenger restraint procedures.
- Operate manual and remote-controlled wheelchair lifts, regulate heating equipment and ventilation, and log mechanical inspections and cleanliness of vehicles.
- Report delays and accidents immediately, and document findings or concerns on daily trip sheets.
- Check the water, gas, oil, and mechanical condition of the bus weekly, and report defects or problems to SDON immediately.
- Keep operational records and make simple reports, and assure the bus meets regular maintenance schedules.
- Perform related work as required, such as vehicle cleaning as needed.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations, and of precautions necessary to avoid accidents.
- Ability to complete various forms and records, including updated route sheets, timesheets, field trip forms, incident and accident reports, etc.
- Ability to operate basic computer functions and smartphone devices.
