The Alumni Engagement Manager is responsible for the overall management and execution of alumni relations programs, fostering engagement, and initiatives that promote and strengthen the bond between alumni and The Kinkaid School.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the alumni database, alumni records, prepare correspondence and reports, and keep calendars for all alumni activities
- Maintain registration records, direct event planning and any necessary volunteer recruitment for all alumni events, including Reunion Weekend, out-of-town events, Alumni Holiday Party, Interim Term in a Night, Alumni Field Day Booth, networking events, and more
- Serve as staff liaison to the Kinkaid Young Professionals Organization, including planning of Alumni Leadership Day and KYPO social events
- Serve as staff liaison to the Alumni Association Board
- Lead efforts in maintaining and further developing a career and mentorship network for all alumni as well as current students through the Summer Internship Program in partnership with the Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Finance
- Work with Class Correspondents on compiling class notes for Kinkaid Magazine. Prepare various other items for the Kinkaid Magazine, including Baby and Wedding Announcements, In Memoriam listings, and event recaps and photos
- Responsible for communications with alumni through letters, publications, email correspondence, alumni e-newsletters, social media, and alumni webpages
- Manage and generate content for the Kinkaid Alumni Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn pages
- Develop and cultivate effective communication and activities with current students that will foster future alumni volunteers and positive alumni relations, namely through the Young Alumni Leaders student leadership group made up of approximately 30 Upper School students
- Serve as a resource on campus for all alumni related inquiries or requests
Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. degree, background in communications, community relations or business preferred
- Three to five years of work experience required, preferably in development or event planning
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple activities, collaborate with others, and be detail-oriented
- Strong computer skills, including social media expertise
- Ability to communicate effectively and partner with faculty, staff, parents, students, alumni, and representatives from the business community
- Familiarity with the independent school environment is preferred
- Some limited travel, evening, and weekend work required including approximately five regional alumni events per school year
- Kinkaid alumni will be given special consideration
