Kiski’s football program has a long and storied history. Many of its players have gone on to be successful in college football programs around the country. More importantly, Kiski School views football as a vehicle to teach student-athletes sportsmanship and character. Kiski’s next head football coach will be a champion for the school and for the program, and will be someone who is eager to develop and make their mark on a small, but competitive program.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated coach looking to grow a football program in a supportive and academically-focused environment. At Kiski, coaches mentor and develop student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom, and play a key role in shaping their futures. This role can be adapted for the right candidate and could be paired with full time employment at Kiski, or could be a part time position.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Lead all aspects of Kiski’s football program, including practice planning, game strategy, and player development.
- Work closely with the admissions office to identify, recruit, and retain mission appropriate student-athletes to the football program.
- Cultivate a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, character, academic success, and overall excellence both on and off the field.
- Lead a staff of football coaches to successfully accomplish shared goals for the program.
- Work closely with the athletic department on all logistical aspects of football operations.
- Work closely with the college counseling office to assist student-athletes in their college searches, especially those who aspire to play football on the college level.
- Participate in the broader Kiski community through a supplemental role such as teaching or administration, and by performing residential life duties.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a football coach at the high school level and/or college-level.
- A demonstrated passion for building and developing a successful, mission-aligned, football program at a school like Kiski.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor young athletes.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the admissions office in recruiting efforts.
- Willingness to contribute to the school community beyond coaching duties, including teaching or administrative responsibilities and residential life duties.
