What are the responsibilities and job description for the Municipal Inspector position at The Kleingers Group?
Are you drawn to managing public infrastructure projects within our communities? Consider an integral role within our Transportation group as Municipal Inspector. The primary focus of this role is to be the engineering representative for multiple communities within the Cincinnati area. This position can be full or part time and will require both office work and time in the field.
With offices located in Cincinnati, Columbus, Louisville, Akron, St. Pete and Indianapolis, you will contribute to the personal attention and service we provide our clients that has become the Kleingers trademark.
The Role
In this role, under the direction of the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage public infrastructure projects, of various sizes, in the following ways:
- Assist with project planning, including project funding, construction administration and closeout
- Work closely with public officials, contractors and engineers
- Review and inspect site work, right-of-way, sidewalks, driveways, fences, walls, water/sewer connections and impacts on residential and commercial development
- Ensure industry compliance standards are met for all engineering details, city codes and policies, etc.
Qualifications
If you have the following qualifications, please apply for consideration.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of civil engineering and/or inspection with a focus on public infrastructure projects. This includes design and/or public inspection of projects such as roadways, sidewalks, water main, traffic signals, culverts and storm sewers.
- Preparation of funding applications (OPWC, OKI, etc.)
- Familiarity with state and local design and construction standards
- Experience with estimating project costs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as required
- BS in Civil Engineering or other related field, preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD civil 3D
