Role Overview
Report directly to the Chief Growth Officer, The Knowledge House's Managing Director (MD), leads and grows program impact, site operations, fundraising and strategic partnerships with other functional, regional, and national leaders. The Managing Director serves as the primary revenue driver for the New York region, and primary contact for institutional and individual donors, partners, including community colleges, corporations, learning communities, etc. Duties will include, but will not be limited to, securing philanthropic and earned revenue; establishing and managing school, corporate, and other public and private partnerships; ensuring the ongoing quality and fidelity of The Knowledge House programs, partnerships and culture; and ultimately growing the organization in the New York area.
The Managing Director collaborates closely with the CEO, Chief Program Officer, and the Sr. Director of Strategy and Innovation to ensure compliance and delivery of TKH programs and services in accordance with national program design, curriculum, SOPs, systems, and processes. Additionally, the Managing Director is a member of The Knowledge House's Leadership Team, which supports the organization by developing the growth strategy and operational plan. As a member of this team, the Managing Director strengthens the connection between The Knowledge House's national goals and the local work in New York.

The Managing Director will interact with students as a coach, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment. Key Areas of Responsibility
Fundraising & Regional Partnership Development (50%)
- Achieve the financial sustainability goals for the New York region, ensuring $2.75M is raised annually by serving as the primary fundraiser of the region and partnering with the national development team and CEO.
- Steward and renew current donors by leading stewardship activities like sharing success stories or holding funder site visits (e.g., individuals, corporations, foundations, public funding, etc.)
- Cultivate and steward donors and a high-impact Regional Advisory Council to support The Knowledge House New York strategic planning and fundraising efforts.
- Serve as the key external voice and representative of The Knowledge House in the New York region, demonstrating an exceptional and compelling articulation of The Knowledge House's mission, values, and partnership opportunities.
- Identify and establish new effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders to advance The Knowledge House New York goals, and brand.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors, including corporate, institutional and individual donors, local school districts, technology companies, government institutions, community organizations, peer organizations, and higher education institutions.

Hybrid Work at TKH
All full-time staff are expected to come into a TKH office or the field (community and industry events, including conferences or travel for work) 1-2 days per week, and the Leadership Team will be encouraged to come into a TKH office at least two times per week. There will be one consistent team day a week that will vary by team. Please note that there are some roles that may require being on-site more based on the job responsibilities.
In addition to the 1 team day, there will be weeks when the expectation is 2 days / week based on required meetings. These may include all staff meetings, department stepbacks, professional development, retreats, events, or other purposeful reasons, as requested by your supervisor or team lead. Managing Directors will also need to be on site at events, which might be held on evenings and weekends.
