Description
SUMMARY : The Dance Trainer works in cooperation with the Cheerleading Manager to prepare dancers for game day performances and entertainment needs. This role requires attendance at all cheer rehearsals, trips, and game days ensuring the highest standards of technique, performance, and team cohesion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Choreograph routines and material as directed by the Manager, including instructing the squad at rehearsals, setting routine formations and modifying material per Manager’s advisement.
- Serve as a mentor and motivator, fostering a positive and inclusive training environment.
- Provide constructive feedback and evaluations to help dancers refine their skills.
- Assist with the recruitment, audition, and selection process for new team members.
- Support game day field activations and other squad related cheer / dance programs.
- Implement strength and conditioning programs to improve endurance, agility, and injury prevention.
- Teach and reinforce proper dance technique, execution, and showmanship in various styles (jazz, hip-hop, pom, etc.).
- Stay updated on industry trends and evolving dance styles to keep routines fresh and engaging.
- Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
