About the Role :

The Billing Specialist works in a busy office environment and must efficiently multitask and ensure the timely completion of assignments. This position plays a key role in the coordination and processing of billings.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and delivered with high quality in a timely manner
  • Answer customer questions about billing and resolve any errors
  • Submit customer insurance claims and process payments from insurance companies
  • Manage customer accounts, collect payments and update accounts to reflect changes
  • Work with customers to set up payment plans and ensure bills are paid
  • Handle various accounting tasks, such as processing weekly payroll
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and retention
  • Submit and file invoices
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

About You : Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of general administrative experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bill collections, billing, customer service, data entry
  • Experience working with Unions a plus, not required
  • Principal Skills

  • Working knowledge of basic accounting practices
  • Solid knowledge of billing practices and procedures; working knowledge of JD Edwards preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented with exceptional oral, written and interpersonal capabilities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Compensation and Benefits

    Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
