The Psychiatrist promotes, maintains, or restores mental health through the study, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, injury, and other physical and mental impairments. Providers focus their practice on promoting prevention, taking histories and examining patients; prescribing medications; ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures. Providers will work as part of a team to promote health and wellness.
The Psychiatrist will also provide clinical supervision to our team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and support psychiatric clinical programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Organizes data concerning a patient's family, medical history, and onset of symptoms obtained from patient, relatives, and other sources such as other providers.
- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients with psychiatric disorders and identifies risk factors for such disorders.
- Examines patients to determine general physical condition.
- Orders laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluates data obtained.
- Determines nature and extent of psychiatric disorder, and formulates treatment program.
- Treats or directs patient-centered treatments, utilizing medications and other methods.
- Plans and administers therapeutic treatment by telephonic / telehealth methodologies as indicated by patient needs and state guidelines.
- Provides accurate documentation of services and interventions in the electronic health record.
- Cultivates a climate of trust and compassion for patients.
- Collaborates with other providers and clinical support staff to form a high performing medical team.
- Coordinates care delivery with primary care providers to promote continuity of care.
- Provides clinical supervision to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
- Participates in peer consultations.
- Remains current with developments and best practices in medicine.
Qualifications and Education Requirements :
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree (MD or DO), Board Certified in Psychiatry, and current valid, and unrestricted license in WI to practice the profession.
Experience with adults, children, and adolescents required.
Preferred Skills :
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Electronic Health Record Database software and Word Processing software.
