Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Garden Center Manager to oversee and run the daily operations of our garden center. This role is vital in ensuring excellent customer experiences while driving sales and managing inventory effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the garden center, ensuring high standards of customer service.
• Supervise staff, providing training and support to enhance team performance.
• Stock and maintain inventory of plants, fertilizers, chemicals, and store merchandise, insuring attractive displays for customers.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Able to open and close the store which includes POS drawers.
• Water and organize 1.5 acres of plants, and ensure they are properly cared for.
• Learn how to load bulk material into customer vehicles with a bobcat.
• Deliver bulk goods in a 1-ton truck locally if needed.
• Develop sales strategies to increase revenue and promote seasonal products.
• Engage with customers to provide knowledgeable advice on plant care, landscaping, and gardening techniques.
• Oversee and assist with unloading plants, insuring delivery invoices are correct

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or a similar role, preferably in a garden center or landscaping environment.
• Strong customer service skills with a passion for gardening and landscaping.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with customers and staff.
• Ability to manage inventory effectively and maintain stock levels.
• Sales-driven mindset with experience in achieving sales targets.
• Current PA driver's license.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Work 5-6 days a week, able to work evening and weekends.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract, Seasonal, Internship

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
