JOB TITLE: Food Runner
REPORTS TO: Restaurant Managers
SUPERVISES: NA
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Help keep a smooth workflow between the kitchen area and guests. Work in a fast-paced environment to get proper orders out to guest to achieve overall guest satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
- Ensure orders are being prepared correctly.
- Supports staff by assisting with delivery of food items to guests.
- Work in fast pace, high volume environment, paying attention to detail.
- Maintains a neat, clean, organized, safe work environment.
- Transports and polishes clean wares, utensils and accessories to area needed.
- Must comply with opening and closing as well as on-going side work duties.
- Maintains consistent communication with the staff and management team.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures and utilizing cleaning to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Stack trays properly for efficient unloading for stewarding and ensure proper safety standards at all times.
· Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Must enjoy working with a team in an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures.
· Requires the ability to lift and carry object weighing up to 30 pounds.
· Standing for 90 % of work shift is required.
· Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Able to learn and retain new menu information on a daily basis in order to effectively articulate to guest.
· Must be proficient in multi-tasking and able to maintain composure in a fast-pace and high service level establishment.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 1-2 years experience as a server preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
· Food Handler’s Certificate required.
· CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
