The Language Doctors is a leading provider of professional translation and localization services. We work with clients worldwide to ensure their content is accurately translated and adapted for different languages and cultures. We are looking for a Localization Project Manager to oversee and execute translation and localization projects, coordinate with clients and linguists, and ensure high-quality deliverables within deadlines and budget constraints.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, gathering project requirements and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Manage translation and localization projects from start to finish, including scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.
- Assign and coordinate work among translators, editors, and other language professionals, ensuring smooth workflows and efficient execution.
- Monitor project timelines, anticipate potential delays, and proactively address issues to meet client expectations.
- Ensure translation quality by applying style guides, glossaries, industry best practices, and quality control tools.
- Work closely with internal teams, freelance linguists, and external vendors to optimize processes and maintain high standards.
- Track project costs, control budgets, and ensure resource allocation aligns with financial objectives.
- Maintain project documentation, including instructions, assets, and client feedback, to improve workflows and future projects.
- Stay up to date with localization tools and industry trends to enhance efficiency and quality in project execution.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Vast experience in localization project management, preferably in a translation company or localization agency.
- Familiarity with translation workflows, CAT tools, and localization management platforms (SDL Trados, XTM, or MemoQ).
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to analyze project performance, optimize workflows, and implement process improvements.
- Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in languages, business, localization, or a related field preferred.
Available Schedule:
- Monday to Friday from 09:00 am to 5:30 pm EST
