BILINGUAL TODDLER CO-TEACHER WANTED

(NORTH HILLS)

The Language Grove Community Preschool is a small Spanish Immersion school that follows a play and inquiry based philosophy located in SFV. We are currently looking for a full time co-teacher to work with children 18mos. to 3 yrs. old. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working with both small and large groups of children, have some knowledge of the constructivist philosophy, be able to execute plans and activities with children, work well with co-teachers and enjoy using an inquiry based approach on a daily basis. Ease in reading and writing in English and Spanish is a must.

APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
We prefer someone with at least 12 core units plus 6 toddler units in child development.
The following classes MUST be included and completed: We prefer someone with Infant Toddler Studies (6units)
Or at least willing to enroll immediately.
Must have minimum of 1yr in classroom teaching experience (Experience must be working with children 18mos-3yrs in a licensed setting)
Must have child centered and inquiry based philosophy.
Candidate must be able to read, write, and speak fluent Spanish and English.

*Great position for college students working towards an ECE degree. The Language Grove is a great place to gain experience and put skills to practice.
*Live in the San Fernando Valley or vicinities preferred.

MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED:
(AA or BA) Preferred but not mandatory to be considered
Completed minimum 12 units in child development plus 6 toddler units
Cleared fingerprints

Cleared TB test (current)

Up to date immunizations
Cleared physical exam (current)
CPR up to date preferred but can complete after hired

IN ADDITION MUST BE:
Be loving, and enthusiastic, respectful to children
Must be open-minded and flexible. Be able to be objective and accept constructive criticism.
Understand "Inquiry Based philosophy"
Be able to work collaboratively with other colleagues
Be able to work closely and respectfully with parents and families
Take initiative, be creative, and spontaneous
Work well with little or no supervision
Have great work ethics
Hard worker, punctual, and responsible
Looking for passionate ECE teachers willing to go the extra mile to make a difference in the lives of children and their families
