Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Team Lead to oversee the accounts payable function. The AP Team Lead will focus on managing the full cycle of accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance while driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have significant accounts payable experience, strong leadership skills and a commitment to process improvement.
AP Team Lead Responsibilities :
Lead and mentor the accounts payable team, promoting a collaborative and high-performing environment
Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including invoice approval in compliance with Delegation of Authority, general ledger coding, invoice entry and preparation of weekly payments via ACH, credit card and checks
Collaborate with internal teams and external resources to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring effective communication and resolution of inquiries or discrepancies
Continuously review current processes to identify opportunities for improvement, including streamlining approval processes and enhancing invoice processing workflows
Create and maintain accurate standard operating procedures for accounts payable processes
Own the monthly accounts payable close process, including accruals and collaborate with the accounting team to support annual audit requests
Assist with travel and entertainment expense management, including setup, review, audit and processing using Concur Solutions
Provide backup support for treasury management tasks, including loading ACH payment files to the bank and handling sales tax payments and reconciliations
Assist in the maintenance of various credit card programs, including setup, changes and month-end reconciliations
Support, cross-train and serve as backup for other team members as necessary
AP Team Lead Requirements :
Associate Degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or 10 years of accounts payable experience
High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Word
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and drive process improvements within accounts payable functions
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively
Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders
