Payroll Specialist Responsibilities :

Process bi-weekly payroll with precision, ensuring all deadlines and compliance requirements are met
Maintain payroll records, employee data, and ensure data integrity and confidentiality
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support month-end close processes
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Provide responsive and effective support to employees regarding payroll inquiries
Register and manage state withholding and unemployment accounts as needed
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate reporting

Payroll Specialist Requirements :

3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or accounts payable

High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing or experience in a unionized workforce is a plus

Proficiency in payroll systems like Paylocity or Paycom

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

Strong understanding of GAAP accrual accounting standards

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Payroll Specialist Benefits :
