Job Type: Seasonal Summer (Full Time / Part Time)
Salary: $25-$30 per hour depending on experience
Additional Compensation: Eligible for Bonuses & Tips

Overview
For over 50 Years, Laurel Hill Summer Camp has been one of the best summer camps in Suffolk County, Long Island. The camp is designed for children from Preschool through 10th grade, providing them with a platform to explore new skills and interests during the summer.
We are looking for Camp Team Members who are enthusiastic and motivated, possess a genuine love of teaching and coaching children and teens, and are eager to work hard and play hard.
Laurel Hill Summer Camp seeks dedicated Lifeguards & Swim Instructors to ensure the safety of campers during aquatic activities and provide swim instruction.
Position
Water Safety Instructors are responsible for monitoring the pool area, conducting swim lessons, performing pool maintenance tasks, and ensuring all camp safety regulations are followed.
This is an integral role in running our Summer Camp, as all campers swim twice every day in our four heated swimming pools.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of swimmers
- Instruct students on proper swimming techniques and water safety skills in accordance with Red Cross Swim Instruction program
- Provide swim lessons tailored to the abilities of various age groups
- Assist in planning and executing water-based activities
- Engage with campers, fostering a fun and supportive environment
- Perform water rescues and administer first aid as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the pool and surrounding areas
- Enforce all pool rules and regulations for the safety of all participants
Qualifications
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications required
- Previous experience as a lifeguard or swim instructor, preferably with children
- Strong swimming ability and knowledge of water safety practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
