Job Summary
The Wound Care Nurse plays a crucial role in providing primary skin care to guests, focusing on treatment and therapy of skin disorders. This position requires expertise in modifying treatment regimens to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of guests, aligning with established medical practices and facility policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other licensed nursing personnel to address dermatologic disorders among guests.
- Identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders, pressure ulcers, and primary and secondary lesions, as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- Consult with the IDT regarding assessment evaluations and assist in planning and developing skin care plans.
- Implement and maintain established policies and procedures related to skin care treatments, interpreting these for physicians and responsible parties.
- Provide treatment for skin disorders within established protocols and under the supervision of the physician.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years' experience working in wound care is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with required state licensure.
- CPR certification or acceptable exemption is required.
