The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, provides and manages nursing care, services and health education to nursing home guests. This role involves supervising the care/services provided by LPNs, CNAs/STNAs, and other team members who care for guests. The RN assesses the health of guests and notifies the physician of changes in status; develops a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care. The RN selects and institutes appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a guest's condition and/or prevent complications. Additionally, the RN contributes to guest assessments (MDS/CAA's) and the development of a plan of care.
To be successful in this role, you will need 1-3 years of experience in a long-term care setting. You will also need to be able to contribute to a collaborative team environment and work effectively with guests, families, and healthcare professionals.
