Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the completion of MDS, CAA's, and care plans within regulated time frames.
- Coordinate the RAI process with the interdisciplinary team.
- Assess residents through physical examination, interview, and chart review.
- Communicate resident care needs with caregivers, including physicians, nurses, social services, therapy, dietary, and activity staff.
- Review hospital information, consults, and outside agencies, incorporating such information into assessments and care planning.
- Identify and address significant changes in resident care.
- Lead PPS meetings, ensuring adherence to Medicare schedules and monitoring Medicare days and RUGs utilization.
- Maintain AANAC certifications and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Consider having AANC certification and RAC-CT.
- Strongly preferred: knowledge of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process and principles of the Prospective Payment Process (PPS).
- Previous experience as an MDS Nurse.
