Job Description: The Copyright Division at Higbee & Associates represents some of the world's most famous photographers and top news agencies. The Associate Litigation Attorney will have the opportunity to work with these clients and represent them in copyright litigation and pre-litigation matters as well as other intellectual property proceedings. The associate will work with a paralegal to file cases, as well as a collaborative team of litigation attorneys. The attorney is responsible for all phases of the case from start to finish including initiating the case, discovery, motion practice, and all hearings including trial if applicable. Caseload will include mostly copyright matters.

ROLE IN LAW FIRM MISSION:
The primary person responsible for ensuring the success of our relationship with our clients and infringers and the quick, efficient resolution of their claims before litigation becomes necessary. Responsible for processing cases with the highest levels of customer support, professionalism and efficiency.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Serves as liaison between the client, staff attorneys, and opposing parties to contact the infringer and transfer live calls to Legal Assistant or Paralegal. You will be responsible to skiptrace, call, and email. Building rapport and credibility in our solutions to avoid litigation. High volume task completion and fast-moving environment.
KEY SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Provide above and beyond customer support to clients
- Correspond with opposing parties and attorneys via e-mail, telephone, and postal mail
- Update clients on the status of their cases
- Explain the nature of copyright claim and transfer the infringer to a Claims Resolution Specialist
- Follow up with non-responsive opposing parties
- Complete fact research and perform screening of cases
- Maintain task lists and procedures
- Miscellaneous tasks, including mail, emails, and voicemails
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- $16.00 per hour plus bonus
