Social Security Paralegal
A steadily growing Law Firm specializing in helping the disabled seeks a Social Security Paralegal. At a minimum, candidates would be required to work from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
The starting pay rate depends on experience. After a 90-day probation period is completed, the employee is eligible for a review based on performance.
Additionally, we are seeking an individual who:
Starting pay is $15-$27.50 per hour, depending on experience, education, and work ethic.
Successful candidates:
I. Have computer proficient (Google, Microsoft Software suite, Adobe, and familiar with Social Security-related applications)
ii. Understands office etiquette
iii. Has an advanced grasp of proper grammar/punctuation and Formal English language (for letter writing)
iv. Demonstrates ability to prioritize work assignments
v. Enjoys interacting with the public in person and on the phone
vi. Have a moderate level of emotional intelligence and empathy
vii. Handles stress well
viii. Have superb ability to manage deadlines
ix. Have good attendance
Duties Include:
I. Assisting with case development
II. Assisting with case management
III. Working with clients to obtain relevant medical records
IV. Requesting medical records and submitting to SSA
V. Writing letters to Judges, clients, and medical providers
VI. Completing legal paperwork and forms
VII. Drafting applications and appeals
VIII. Preparing clients for hearings and examinations
IX. Checking in on current clients to see how they are doing
X. Assisting the lead paralegal/office manager and attorneys
