Regionally recognized law firm is seeking an associate attorney to join our high-volume law practice. Though we currently have seven attorneys and supporting administrative staff, consumer demand for our litigation acumen and customer service skills requires that we expand further. Pay & Benefits
Total compensation - $85,000 - 100,000 annually
Salary - $75,000 annually
Performance bonuses - $10,000-25,000 annually
Sign-on bonus $2,500 (based on experience)

Primary responsibilities
Drafting pleadings and motions
Legal research and memorandums
Client meetings, calls, and correspondence
Procure and utilize client proof / facts
Witness preparation
Depositions & written discovery
Draft subpoenas
Mediations
Negotiate with opposing counsel
Argue pre-trial motions
Trial and trial preparation
Requirements
Strong knowledge of, or capacity to learn, state and federal law applicable to your practice areas, including Tennessee Rules of Evidence, Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, Tennessee Code Annotated, Local Rules, appellate case law, and other applicable rules and regulations
Strong drafting and writing skills
Ability to interface with clients to assess needs, explain our practice, provide status updates, procure evidence and proposed testimony, handle client concerns and questions, and prepare clients / witnesses for trial and hearings
Ability to effectively put on proof and advocate in court
Ability to collaborate with firm staff to identify goals, problem areas, and solutions.
Ability to analyze the client file, case notes, and proof to both formulate and answer legal questions.
Ability to cooperate with opposing counsel, court staff, mediators, and others to effectively negotiate and mediate cases where viable
Ability to create positive client relationships that result in referrals and enhance the firm brand
Ability to manage time, track billing, and property notate the client management software
Ability to participate in firm meetings to contribute to our shared knowledge base and firm culture
Must have a Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school
Must have a law license in Tennessee
Some experience preferred but not necessary
Must be able to start promptly
