Overview:
The Law Offices of Ronald J. Shook is seeking a Paralegal for our Gastonia, North Carolina Office. We practice in the areas of Criminal Defense and Firearms Rights. Our office defends people who have been charged with a crime and guide them through their darkest times by helping them avoid life-changing consequences like jail time. We also protect and defend the right to bear arms by preserving and restoring people’s gun rights.

Responsibilities:
· Filling out legal forms.
· Drafting letters and simple court documents.
· Drafting motions and other legal documents from templates.
· Assisting attorneys in preparing for hearings.
· Assisting attorneys in the courtroom when necessary.
· Interpreting for consultations when necessary.
· Case management and calendaring.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
· Productivity: Perform a minimum of 30 hours of billable work per week.
· Calendaring Accuracy: With no errors on quality control reviews.
· Client Reviews: Maintain a high level of customer service as evidenced by at least one positive client review per week.
Education & Experience:
· Minimum – Some college or associates/bachelor’s degree encouraged.
· A Paralegal should have prior experience working in a law firm, either as a receptionist or a Legal Assistant, and candidates with this experience will be given preference.
