Commercial Contracts/ Employment Attorney

Practice law and have a life. It’ s possible to do both. Our client acts as outside counsel to emerging companies in the life sciences and tech industries. On their behalf, we are recruiting an associate with a minimum of three years of experience with employment counseling and commercial contracts at a top national or international firm.
Great opportunity to work with ex Big Law-trained attorneys and receive general counsel training in a boutique environment. Position yourself for a long career with a firm that values work-life balance with a 1500 billable benchmark (bonus kicks in at 1300 hours). Candidates will be able to work a hybrid schedule from either Denver or Boulder (firm has offices in both cities).
Base compensation range is $145k-$190k. Firm offers outstanding benefits: fully funded employee healthcare (including HAS contribution), 401k with 4% match, profit sharing, tech stipend and a two month paid sabbatical after 7 years’ tenure.
Applicants should possess:
- JD from a top-tier law school.
- License (or ability to become licensed) to practice law in Colorado.
- Experience with employment matters, including employment classifications, employment separations, non-competes, employee handbooks, employment policies, employee complaints, and compliance with ADA, FMLA, Colorado’s FAMLI and POWR statutes, and other state and federal employment-related laws.
- Experience with commercial contracts for technology transactions, including SaaS agreements, software licenses and other commercial agreements. Experience with office leases is a plus.
- Ability to conduct employment counseling and contract negotiations with minimal supervision.
